GIUSEPPE SIGNORI IS INVOLVED IN MATCHFIXING SCANDAL

Lazio and Bologna legend, Beppe Signori has been placed under house arrest according to ANSA. 16 individuals were arrested in total with Signori being the most high profile of the names. A number of Serie B and Lega Pro players have also been implicated in the scandal including Atalanta hero, Cristiano Doni.

Details are still sketchy but rumours are suggesting that the arrested persons and those being placed under investigation have been attempting to influence the outcome of match fixtures for the purpose of gambling. More information is sure to emerge in the coming days.
This summer's matchfixing scandal - that started with partly Beppe Signori's arrest - has become a case where new names pop up every day.

So far Lazio's name hasn't been mentioned, and yesterday lazialita.com's facebook page stated that Lazio, Milan and Napoli was not involved in the scandal. La Repubblica has this evening though stated that two of Lazio's matches might be involved. In what role Lazio has played in this, or what matches we're talking about is not stated. Nothing has been stated officially so these rumors can be indeed false.

So far Atalanta and Siena has been hit very hard by accusations, and their promotion to Serie A can, according to Italian media, be in jepordize.
