THE RECORD HAS BEEN BROKEN
SERIE A 2012 / 2013 MATCHDAY 22
LAZIO 0 VS CHIEVO 1
Finally, Lazio's unbeaten run in last sixteen matches has ended by Chievo Verona, also in Olimpico, the home for Petkovic's men. As the home side, Lazio actually controlled the match, but too many chances that wasted by the Petkovic men. Alberto Paloschi scored a single goal to turn victory into Chievo side.
Lazio coach Vladimir Petkovic insists that his side didn’t deserve their loss on Saturday against Chievo. The Biancoceleste had been unbeaten in 16 matches, including six straight home wins, but fell 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico.
“I’m convinced I made the right choices [in resting key players], because I needed everyone to give 100% today,” said Petkovic. “It was a game we didn’t deserve to lose. Chievo capitalized on their only scoring opportunity and we wasted too many of ours.
“After so many positive matches, it was bound to happen that we’d
have a bad day against a difficult opponent. All that counts is that the
team believes and is ready to begin another run.”
With that defeat, Lazio slip down to third for the moment behind Napoli, who play on Sunday, they’re both six back of league leaders Juventus.

PETKOVIC SATISFIED ENOUGH WITH DRAW RESULT AT RENZO BARBERA
SERIE A 2012 / 2013 MATCHDAY 21
PALERMO 2 VS LAZIO 2
Palermo: Ujkani; Von Bergen, Aronica, (Munoz 46) Garcia;
Morganella, (Anselmo 65) Arevalo Rios, Kurtic, Dossena; Ilicic; (Malele
79) Dybala, Miccoli
Lazio: Marchetti; Biava, Cana, Ciani; Radu, (Candreva 73) Cavanda, Ledesma, (Kozak 80) Hernanes, Lulic; (Gonzalez 68) Mauri; Floccari
Lazio's move in Italian Serie A race held by Sicilian squad Palermo last night. With several key players that didn't play such as Miroslav Klose, Antonio Candreva, Alvaro Gonzalez, Abdoulay Konko and Andre Dias, Lazio had tied score against Gasperini's men at Renzo Barbera Stadium.
Actually, Lazio lead first in the first half as Sergio Floccari scored his second goal in Serie A this season through amazing header. Cristian Ledesma sent a briliant cross to the Palermo's penalty box, then Floccari simply placed the ball to the unreachable position of Palermo's goalkeeper Samir Ujkani.
But, in the second half Lazio shocked by two goals of Palermo in only two minutes through Arevalo Rios and Paulo Dybala. It turned the lead into the Palermo side. Luckily, Lazio got a penalty gift from the referee after Sergio Floccari had been taken down by Palermo's defender. Hernanes took the penalty chance well to equalize the score.
This is not really good result for Lazio in effort to chase Juventus on the top position of classification. The gap is now increase to five points after Juventus won the clash against Udinese last night. But, the positive thing is Lazio succeed to stretch the unbeaten run to 15 matches in all competition this season.
While Lazio coach Vladimir Petkovic said that he satisfied enough with this result, "At the end, the draw result is fair enough. Both teams are proper to win and lose in this match. The main problem is we were too defended in playing and failed to play the desireable tactic."
Now, Lazio have to focus to semifinal of Coppa Italia match against Juventus on Tuesday. Miroslav Klose and Abdoulay Konko are expected to be fit enough to play in that match. Andre Dias and Alvaro Gonzalez seems to be filled their position again after they had been only sat on the bench against Palermo last night.
Come on eagles!! Struggle to the final of Coppa Italia and give laziale trophies this season! FORZA LAZIO!!

A LITTLE STORY ABOUT VLADIMIR PETKOVIC
I've just read an articel about Lazio coach, Vladimir Petković on lazioland.com. Many things about him that surprise me. Yeah, because he's not a really famous figure in European football. For example, actually he's capable to speak in eight languages fluently! WOW!! He speaks Serbo-Croatian and Bosnian, Italian, French, English, Spanish, German and Russian. Amazing!
Vladimir Petković
was born in Sarajevo on August 15, 1963. He also started his career in football as a player. In early 1980s he began his professional career at FK Sarajevo. In 1987, he emigrated to Swiss and joined FC Chur before he moved to the stronger team, FC Sion. Sion managed a third place finish in the Nationalliga, but
Petković left the club at the end of the season. After leaving Sion,
Petković moved back into the lower tiers, first joining FC
Martigny-Sports before returning to his former Swiss club, Chur, where
he enjoyed a career as a regular goalscoring midfielder.
After retired as player, he worked as a teacher, follow the traces of his parents. But, finally he was in contact with the charity organization Caritas that made him as a volunteer. He worked full-time for five and half year with Caritas. He had a responsibility to take care a group of unemployed young men.

Petkovic with Klose |
After a few years, he was persuaded to
coach an amateur team during evenings, and slowly football came back
into his life. At the beginning of the
2008–09 season, he was appointed as manager of Young Boys. After taking
charge at the club, he took his Bern side to a second-placed league
finish. A full-time coaching role was never on his mind, but his results
were a bit too good for him not to. Football chose him. At first, he
even forced his football employer to adjust the training-scheme so it
would fit with his hours at Caritas, even when coaching in the highest
league in Switzerland, but when Young Boys was aiming for Champions
League he realized that he didn't have the energy working double shifts.
He said goodbye and promised to be back again in a few years later to
the people at Caritas.
After two more seasons with Young Boys, he was fired after a 1–1 draw against FC Luzern on 7 May 2011, and he became new manager of Turkish side Samsunspor. He resigned from that position in January 2012. On 15 May 2012 he was named the new temporary manager of Sion until the end of the 2011–12 season.
His arrival to Lazio in summer 2012 has debated by many supporters. His capability was doubted. But now, with Lazio he make an impressive performance so far. Unbeatable in UEFA Europa League group stage, finish on the second position in Serie A for half of the season and advance through the quarter finals in Coppa Italia.
Petković has lost only four times in 27 official matches with Lazio. Currently, Lazio have not been beaten in 11 consecutive games (3 in Europa League, 1 in Coppa Italia, and 7 in Serie A). Much of the credit goes to Lazio manager Vladimir Petković.

RUNNER UP IN THE END OF YEAR!!
SERIE A 2012 / 2013
MATCHDAY 18
SAMPDORIA 0 VS LAZIO 1
Lazio: Marchetti, Biava, Dias, Konko, Radu, Ledesma, Gonzales, Mauri (Ciani), Lulic, Hernanes (Cavanda), Klose (Floccari).
Surprisingly, Lazio managed to secure the second postion of Serie A before entering the winter break. With three points added after victory against Sampdoria yesterday, Lazio is now colected 36 points, 8 points behind the top position Juventus and only lead 1 point in front of Fiorentina and Internazionale.
At Luigi Ferraris Stadium, the home team made a high tempo attacking pace. It made Lazio concentrate more to survive their goal than to score a goal. Actually, Lazio came to Genoa with one advantage after the home team made the coach exchange. After fired Ciro Ferrrara, Sampdoria point Delio Rossi to take over the team.
As you already knew, Delio Rossi is a former Lazio coach. With him, Lazio gained a Coppa Italia trophy in 2009. Well, his first mission was to took down his former team and come home to Roma with empty-handed. He performed good tactic that make Lazio difficult to score to his new team's goal. But unlucky, Hernanes made his first mission end with failure.
In minute 28, Lulic succeeded to send a cross into Sampdoria's penalty box. Sampdoria's goalkeeper,Sergio Romero punch the ball out, but the ball headed to Hernanes. With an immediate reaction, he kicked the ball toward the goal and there was the first and the sole goal in this match.
As a said before, this second position is very surprisingly. Lazio started the season with some trepidation in the eyes of his supporters. With only get two new players in the transfer market last summer, Lazio practically did not change much compared to last season. But, I really thank God for this situation.
Well, Vladimir Petkovic and his players now can enjoy their holiday with calm and pleasant feeling. FORZA LAZIO!!

Through the first half, Lazio dominated the game. But, the opening goal came in minute 30 after Hernanes sent a stunner that left Drakovic chanceless. Lazio played better in the second half as they can add another goal through the German international Miroslav Klose. The main striker of Lazio proved his sharpness in this beginning of the season.
The second leg will be played in Rome in a week, but between that
Lazio will travel to Bergamo and face Atalanta in the opening week of Serie A. Petkovic once again should prove his capability to bring Lazio a good result in the beginning of this season.

PRE SEASON MATCH: LAZIO 2 VS MALMO 1
Before
heading into a two-legged tie against Mura 05 in the qualifications for Europa
League Lazio welcomed Malmö of Sweden to a close to empty Stadio Olimpico.
Actually,
on paper Lazio should have gained a victory easily. But, the fact was
different. Lazio only got two goals, all of them were come from penalty kick of
Hernanes and Libor Kozak's chance in the last minute after took Zarate's
corner.
Stefano Mauri
tweeted on Twitter about this game; "Good game against Malmoe which boosts morale before the
football that matters, which is about to begin." While the coach Petkovic said, "Lazio played well against Malmo and dominated the match".
In
a week Lazio will travel to Maribor to kick off the season. Many question marks
remain and even further have been added today. Like I say before, this team is
kinda worrying to play around next season. Ederson is the only new man in this
team. A free transfer man. Lazio is wandering the transfer market this sumnmer
with empty result. Four lost in a row in friendly match and only gain victory
over mediocre team are not good results for Lazio in this pre season time.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY VLADIMIR PETKOVIC!
Maybe it is quite late... But, Universe of Lazio wish to say Happy Birthday to our new coach, Vladimir Petkovic. We hope that He can bring Lazio to the top of the competitions next season.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY VLADIMIR PETKOVIC!!

THE TEAM HAVE LAUNCHED!
Lazio have launched their squad last night before a friendly match against Getafe (Spain). There is no different with the previous season squad, except an addition of Ederson. Looks like Lazio is really really SLOW to move in transfer market this summer.
Well, with three losts in a row in friendly matches (against Galatasaray, Siena and Torino), what do you think about Lazio squad for this season? According to me, the squad will make me worry all season long...

And, here are some pictures when Lazio's players and Macron released the new jersey. I have taken them from the official Lazio fanpage on Facebook.
