Three points in the Olimpico should be achieved with difficulty by Lazio. Lazio took great effort until the 85th minute to ensure three points above Cagliari at the Olimpico on Sunday (25/3) night. Brazilian defender Breno could be set for a Bayern Munich exit this summer as Lazio have joined Internacional, Sao Paulo and Flamengo in the race for the services of the centre-back..

Breno joined Bayern from Sao Paulo in January 2008, but the centre-back has never managed to live up to expectations at the Bundesliga giants. He has mainly been warming the bench at the Bavarians in the past season, and is therefore keen to move on this summer.

The defender has a contract until June 2012 and Bayern seem ready to cash in on the player, following the arrival of Jerome Boateng from Manchester City earlier this week. So, Lazio could try again for Breno in the summer.

If the senior squad of Lazio had some problems with the match results recently, their junior is performing good match. The primavera team is unbeatable for several matches. They also booked some victories. After they won the match against Gubbio last week, then this week Lazio primavera played Pescara away. Pescara were 12th in the table with only 18 points.

Bollini's boys had no problems and in the end won 3-0 with goals from Onazi, Barreto and Rozzi. Hmm... I think Barreto and Rozzi are still on fire untill this week ^_^ .


Next week, the youngsters will play against Nocerina at Formello.

KLOSE IS INJURY, OUT FOR A MONTH

There is a bad news!! Lazio have been hit by a news that Miroslav Klose's injury is as bad as expected and the German will be out for up to a month. The injury couldn't come at a worse time as Lazio are being pushed to the brink for the final Champions League slot. Klose is likely to miss key clashes with Napoli and Juventus.

Following the sales of Cisse and Sculli in winter mercato, Lazio will only have to depend on Tommaso Rocchi, Libor Kozak and the new boy Emilliano Alfaro upfront.

NEW CONTRACTS FOR BROCCHI AND BIAVA

Two veteran players in the squad, Cristian Brocchi and Giuseppe Biava had contracts set to expire after this season. But, finally Lazio announced on their official website several days ago that both of them have signed new contract and those are set to expire in summer 2013.

The 36 years old midfielder, Christian Brocchi and 34 years old defender Giuseppe Biava are still considered as the key players in the current Lazio team. Brocchi who is now 36-year-old joined from Milan in the year of 2008, while 34-year-old Biava came from Genoa two years ago.

Not only them, goalkeeper Albano Bizzarri and defender Lionel Scaloni are also expected to be offered a 1 year contracts. It looks like Lazio still need the Argentinians eventhough they only often sit on the bench all this season long.

Lazio failed to move away from the pursuit of Napoli and Udinese, after failing to score in the trip to the Stadio Angelo Massimino - home to Catania. Biancoceleste still third in the standings with 48 points. Napoli and Udinese, the only two numbers below it, will certainly fight Lazio ejecting from the third position. This result makes Lazio as the team in the Champions League zone that have away defeat record at most, which is five times.

In this match, Lazio may have to lament the lack of luck. Stefano Mauri diagonal shot blocked by Francesco Lodi. An opportunity also came in the 71st minute. Christian Brocchi see Klose freestanding jatung area. He sent a mature, and Klose welcomed with gunfire, but the ball hit the crossbar. An then, Ledesma's header hit the crossbar as well.

Nicola Legrottaglie was the sole scorer in this match. He become hero with a single goal that occured in minute 80 after received an assist from Francesco Lodi.

This week, Lazio went to Catania to meet with the home team with a mission to gain a victory. A victory is a must if Lazio still want to hold on the third position of Serie A standing. After a terrible loss from Bologna last week, now Lazio only have two points gap ahead from Napoli on the fourth position.

A major setback in Lazio's challenge the Champions League as last night they were soundly beaten by Bologna.. Nothing much that I can say about this match. Lazio tottally terrible and lost. Received two red cards for Matuzalem and Gonzalez. Despite the loss, Lazio keep hold of third place and also keep in touch with 2nd after Udinese's loss and Juventus' draw yesterday.

"Fortunately nothing has changed regarding the standings. A victory (last night) could have let us reach areas of ranking importance, but we are third", Reja said to Lazio Style Radio. "We accept the criticism, we will try to improve ourselves to get out of this"

While Hernanes said that Lazio would have been drunk by the derby victory against Roma Merda, "We are too much partying until the approach taken in the game looked less than maximum," said Hernanes.

"But Lazio has not been exhausted, the chance for the Champions League is still wide open. It is time for us to rise up, self-confidence it has not gone away," he said. "We sure will end the season by bringing satisfaction to the fans,"

7000 LAZIALE IN FORMELLO AFTER THE DERBY

Lazio fans showed their enthusiasm with 7,000 tifosi turning up to training at Formello following the Derby win on Sunday.

Fans chanted songs for their stars, espescially 'Miro Klose Gol' and for coach Edy Reja and also the eagle Olympia. Also the usual songs towards Roma were heard including Luis Enrique who has lost both Derbies since joining Roma. At the beginning of each training session the players paid tribute to the supporters.

After a victory in the derby match, tonight Lazio will face the first test in their home in a campaigne to chase the capolista position. The opponent is Bologna, a team who just had held draw Juventus in a delayed midweek match in Thursday.

Last week, after the derby match Edy Reja has been insisted that the Scudetto could still be achieved by his men. But, with some players that are still struggling with their injuries, could Lazio keep on running to chase Milan and Juventus on the top standing of Serie A tonight?

EDOARDO REJA'S JOYFUL IN THE DERBY

Lazio coach, Edy Reja felt as if his squad never ever had a nightmare before like some ashamed lost from Atletico Madrid, Siena and Palermo. The victory in the last derby gave him too much joyful. Then, after the victory he told the media that he intended to coach Lazio for ten years again.

Previously, Edy Reja had offered to resign as Lazio coach because the problems he had with the president Claudio Lotito and the Sport Director Igli Tare. But, after some weeks, the three men succeed to solve the problems they had. And in the derby match, Reja paid it. He gave the second glorious derby in this season. Well done, Reja!! Grazie!!
