LAZIO GOT BRUNO PEREIRINHA SIGN

Lazio have announced on their official club website that they have completed the signing of Portuguese midfielder Bruno Pereirinha. They were working on the deal late into the night and it has been finalised after negotiations with the player were completed.

The 24-year-old is most comfortable wide on the right of midfield but is very similar to ex Biancoceleste star Stephan Lichtsteiner in that he can also operate at full-back too. He had been at Sporting since 2006 and has made 86 appearances during his time there as well as appearing on 19 occasions for the Portugal U21 international side.

Benvenuto Bruno!

CARRIZO SET TO INTERNAZIONALE IN THE SUMMER

Lazio third goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo set to leave Biancoceleste to Internazionale in the summer. The 28-year-old’s contract expires in the summer and Lazio have not offered him a contract extension, opening the door for Inter to sign the Argentine.

The Nerazzurri have been looking for a veteran goalkeeper to back up Samir Handanovic as Luca Castellazzi has had injury problems and Vid Belec is viewed as being too inexperienced for the role. The official announcement of the signing could come in February, after the closure of the current transfer window.

Carrizo is former first goalkeeper if Lazio. But, in his first season, he  could'nt get his best performance and finally Uruguayan goalkeeper Fernando Muslera took away the position from him.

THE RECORD HAS BEEN BROKEN

SERIE A 2012 / 2013 MATCHDAY 22
LAZIO 0 VS CHIEVO 1

Finally, Lazio's unbeaten run in last sixteen matches has ended by Chievo Verona, also in Olimpico, the home for Petkovic's men. As the home side, Lazio actually controlled the match, but too many chances that wasted by the Petkovic men. Alberto Paloschi scored a single goal to turn victory into Chievo side.

Lazio coach Vladimir Petkovic insists that his side didn’t deserve their loss on Saturday against Chievo. The Biancoceleste had been unbeaten in 16 matches, including six straight home wins, but fell 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico.

“I’m convinced I made the right choices [in resting key players], because I needed everyone to give 100% today,” said Petkovic. “It was a game we didn’t deserve to lose. Chievo capitalized on their only scoring opportunity and we wasted too many of ours.

“After so many positive matches, it was bound to happen that we’d have a bad day against a difficult opponent. All that counts is that the team believes and is ready to begin another run.”

With that defeat, Lazio slip down to third for the moment behind Napoli, who play on Sunday, they’re both six back of league leaders Juventus.
