Lazio, once again became the conqueror of Roma. The second victory of the season over their rival AS Roma Merda made Lazio the king of the city. Lazio faced this match with still some injury players on their side. Abdoulay Konko and Stefan Radu still struggle for their injuries. Their position replaced by Lionel Scaloni and Javier Garrido. The abscent of Tommaso Rocchi made coach Edy Reja have no choice but to only played Miroslav Klose alone on the forward position. But, it was luck for Lazio that Stefano Mauri had return to the field. He was full recovered from his injury and took the captain armband in this match.

It only took about seven minutes before Lazio lead the match and also the amount of player. Roma Merda's goalkeeper Stekelenburg fouled Klose inside the area and referee Bergonzi hesitated but had no choice but to point to the penalty spot as well as showing the dutch the red card.

The opening goal scored by Hernanes after he pointed to execute the penalty kick. A gift in this match was not wasted by him. 1-0 for Lazio. Not for long, Borini made himself as the equalizer for the home team. But... There was only the sole goal of the home team in this match!! With the leading of amount of player, Lazio gained their second goal in the second half. It had begun from Ledesma who sent a briliant free kick behind a chanceless Juan who tried to head the ball away, il capitano Stefano Mauri beautifully took the ball behind the goalkeeper Lobont to give the lead for Biancoceleste. After the goal, Mauri ran to the Curva Nord. The celebrations under an impressive Curva had no limits, as the players and the fans gathered in some emotional moments.

The final minutes saw Lazio sit back and see the time out, eventhough the referee gave a red card for Scaloni but Lazio still held on with the leading. When the final whistle was blown, as is customary after a derby win, the players ran down to Curva Nord and celebrated with the laziale. Finally, after 15 years Lazio had managed to win the Derby della Capitale twice in a season. I believe this victory would bring Lazio out from the nightmares before!!
