Once again a pre season friendly match held on last Saturday against Universitatea Cluj-Napoca. Lazio only have three weeks remaining to face the first official match of the season against Rabotnicki Skopje in the final round of qualifications for Europa League
This is the formation of Lazio: Federico Marchetti, Lionel Scaloni (71' Luis Pedro Cavanda), Giuseppe Biava, Guglielmo Stendardo, Stefan Radu, Christian Brocchi, Francelino Matuzalem, Mauro Zarate (71' Pasquale Foggia), Anderson Hernanes, Giuseppe Sculli (71' Simone Del Nero) , Miroslav Klose (71' Libor Kozak).
All through the game Lazio showed superior over Cluj. In the first half, Mauro Zarate, that had a partnership with Klose for the first time showing up with few tricks up his sleeve, served the lethal striker who was brought down and consequently awarded a penalty. Hernanes took up the penalty and scored the first goal, 1-0.
In the second half, Lazio still showed up the superiority. After 56 minutes the match was running, Hernanes found Klose in a central position, and the German international striker placed the ball beautifully behind the goalkeeper of Cluj Popa. Then, five minutes later Brocchi got his goal, after being served by Klose in a well executed link-up.
After 71 minutes of the match, there four new players were brought in for Lazio, and Simone Del Nero came to be the one impressive subtitution. Entering the penalty area from the left area, a few step-overs brought him in good position and with a well struck shot the player beat the Cluj goalkeeper. The scored changed to 4-0.
Before the game had ended, Cluj managed to get one goal to their name, as Cojocean saw his attempt from close range go in behind Marchetti for the final score 4-1 in this friendly at Fiuggi.
