TOMMASO ROCCHI MOVED TO INTER, MATUZALEM LOANED TO GENOAmATUZALEM

MATUZALEM AND ROCCHI

Our two players had left us to the other teams in this January. Inter Milan have confirmed the signing of our captain, Tommaso Rocchi. The striker, who has played just three games for the biancocelesti this season, will join Inter on a three-year deal, until the end of June.

Rocchi, aged 35, has been with Lazio since 2004, scoring 82 goals for the club. Last season, under Edy Reja, he had 22 starts and five substitute appearances, scoring just six goals in the process. The new coach Vladimir Petković, however, has taken little shine to the veteran, preferring instead to start another elder, German bomber  Miroslav Klose.

Apparently, however, the nerazzurri believe that Rocchi is the solution to their troubles up front. Inter haven't done too badly this season, scoring 30 goals thus far. But should Diego Milito, who has eight, or Antonio Cassano, with five, go down with injury, Inter's European dreams could be shattered.

While Francelino Matuzalem has officially completed his move from Lazio to Genoa on loan with an option to buy. The Brazilian midfielder had already been training with Genoa for the last few days, but the transfer was only formalised this evening.

A statement on both club websites confirmed the deal is a six-month loan with option to buy at the end of the season. Matuzalem had not played for Lazio this season due to a contract dispute.
