THE FUTURE OF FLOCCARI IS STILL VAGUE

Radio Mana Mana contacted the agent of Sergio Floccari in a bid to find out what may be on the agenda for the Lazio striker this summer. The response was cagey to say the least and with rumours abound that Floccari could go on loan to Parma in the very near future, the following comments will do little to reassure Floccari fans:

"Sergio is a player in high demand. We must understand the technical perspective of Lazio but an assessment will be made if and when Lazio official acquire a new striker. Parma? It is only the 17th June, at this stage it is almost entirely speculation."

The Lazio striker situation is a puzzle. With Miroslav Klose recenty joining the Roman ranks, Sergio Floccari may find himself as fifth choice striker when the new season begins having fallen behind Mauro Zarate, Tommaso Rocchi and Libor Kozak in the pecking order. Giuseppe Sculli would be another option for the forward line, further diminishing Sergio's role.

However, it appears more likely that a departure for Floccari would depend heavily on the potential signing of Panathanaikos star Djibril Cisse. Should the French forward find himself in the capital, there would most certainly be no room for Floccari at Lazio.

CLAUDIO LOTITO:" I WILL BUILD A BETTER TEAM..."

According to lazioland.com, La Repubblica have said that Claudio Lotito is focused on the market and building towards a brighter future for Lazio. "I will create a stronger team. It will be a great Lazio, comparable to other great sides both domestically and internationally. The fans can be proud of this team."

Negotiations for Lichtsteiner are believed to be taking place at present. The price tag has been lowered to 10.5 million according to various reports from the Italian media. The agent of Abdoulaye Konko has also admitted that a deal is in place for the French right-back to go to Lazio but there was also clarification that the player has yet to speak with the Romans.

In other news today, Cagliari wantaway goalkeeper Federico Marchetti confirmed that he is interested in a move to Lazio. A deal for Lichtsteiner would give Claudio Lotito enough money to initiate Marchetti's buyout clause.

Riccardo Montolivo of Fiorentina and Brescia duo Hetemaj and Kone have also been linked with moves to Rome. Meanwhile Toronto FC are looking at Makinwa while Newell's Old Boys have declared an interest in Lionel Scaloni.

RADU SIGNED A NEW CONTRACT UNTIL 2016

After months of speculation with an agreement becoming increasingly unlikely with every day that passed, fans can now breathe a sigh of relief as Stefan Radu has extended his contract with Lazio until 2016.

The news was announced officially by the club on their website, but I knew it first time from lazioland.com. Details of the contract have yet to emerge.

A payrise would be useful. The Romanian defender was recently fined 7,000 euro for a series of on-field incidents. It is now thought that Radu will return to his more favourable centre-back position in light of the signing of Bosnian starlet Senad Lulic.

MAURO ZARATE STILL WITH LAZIO NEXT SEASON

The agent of Mauro Zarate, Bozzo assured the laziali through the microphones of Radio Mana Mana, that the Argentinean will be at Lazio next year, but insisted on the next year phrase, thus no promises of eternal loyalty are given, something laziali expect from their players.

"Zarate is staying at Lazio for now, there is always an interest from other teams who would like to have Zarate in their ranks, but he has not given me any signs of wanting to leave. We will see in the future, but if Zarate ever wants to leave, it will be to a much bigger team, and to earn that chance, Zarate must show again the form that gave him his reputation. The lad has great qualities that can impress any coach."

It is worth noting that Lazio's relationship with Zarate has improved a lot since the appointment of Bozzo as his agent. As the biancoceleste club were always annoyed at the challenging remarks of his previous agent and brother, Sergio Zarate.

TOMASSO BERNI: I WILL STAY IF LAZIO WANT ME TO STAY

The previous season second goalkeeper of Lazio Tomasso Berni has not settled his future yet. Reports in the late stages of the season were all indicating a move to Napoli, but it appears now that it has fallen apart, and with Muslera that will be leaving Lazio, Berni's agent Davide Lippi has spoken to Cittaceleste.it and hinted at Berni's willingness to stay at Lazio.

"Now it is a difficult period as Tomasso is trying to decide his future. Contrary to what many think, the player does not want to leave Rome. Berni is happy here and loves the city, but we are still waiting for Tare and Lotito to make a move. As for Napoli, we are not thinking about them now, after the Muslera incident, we think Berni is the right man for the job. Berni has always been available when the team needed him, and regardless if the coach thinks Berni is worthy of only the second keeper position, we are willing to stay if a suitable offer from Lazio came." concluded Lippi.
